Flower alternatives

Hello ladies. I would be eternally grateful if you could suggest an alternative to gardenias. I love the way they look as an all white bouquet - they don't blend into a large ball like carnations and hydrangeas. It looks like the gardenias in your picture are silk... are you planning on a silk bouquet, or real? The gardenias in the picture are actually clay but I would definitely want real flowers. I love the look of the orchids in the picture you provided. I have gone back and forth with the idea of roses... I think if I did them I would want them to be in full bloom so the petals are turned out instead of tight together. The orchids are beautiful though, I will be looking into those as well! Thank you for your help - I wish I knew more about flowers.

I have never seen peonies or ranunculus in person. I looked them up on a google image search and I think I like the flowers with more obvious petals a little better. I guess I'll just have to keep looking. Thanks for the suggestions though! Very helpful in terms of giving me a place to start as I know NOTHING about flowers.

It sounds like you're looking for a flower with a more easily viewed shape, something with more definition.You might look at tulips. Although they are known to be a "thirsty" flower, and would benefit from being put into water at various times during your reception.

while tulips are gorgeous, and would give a similar look... i wouldn't try to DIY them. They need to be wired and cut a certain way - or they will look like TOTAL CRAP very, very fast.
