    It depends. I have seen the entire song played, a minute played, up until the 2nd verse. Whatever you are comfortable with. Have you asked your DJ or Band?? They usually are on point with this!!

    ok, thanks. Our first song is about 4 minutes, and while I love it, I'm not sure if people will get bored just watching us dance. I'll ask my DJ- good thought!

    Our song is 6 minutes long and I know that is considered too long for a first dance but it is the most special song to our relationship and we couldn't imagine using a different song for our first dance as husband and wife. So we decided we would have our wedding party join us part way through and are considering having others join in as well..

    We're having a band and they told us to just give them a wink or a nod when we want to cut the song and they will end at the next apropriate time so no one will know.  I'm thinking the DJ could do a similar thing and fade it out when you decide you're done.
