Song List for DJ

Hi there!

I need to send a song list to our DJ tonight and I listed out the songs that need to be played for our first dance, the cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.  But as far as the songs that will be played for the rest of the reception, the dancing music, do I give a list of what I want played, or just a few songs I want played and leave the rest up to the DJ?  How does that work?

You should give about 10-20 of your favorite songs and a few do not play or not preferred. This will give your DJ and good idea of the music he should play and leave room to read the crowd and music requests.

I am meeting with my Dj this weekend and i made a list of of artists and a if there was certain song by them i wrote it down, otherwise i told him to play anything my that artist. I wouldnt just go with a few songs because would you trust someone you dont know to just pick the songs at your wedding? i wouldnt.  Im not doing music requests, cause who knows what will be played!
