Planning to Take & Post Instant Prints @ Reception?

Just wanted your thoughts on this brainstorming idea we had please:

We're planning to have a person (not F&F & most likely non-pro) take digital pics @ the entrance & maybe 1 other candid shot & have him run to the local Walmart, Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid to get them instantly printed in 1 hr & then posted on a board @ the reception ala cruise style as party favors.

Any pitfalls you can think of?

What time is your reception? At most places, one hour photo closes by 8 or 9pm.

Even at places where they have the digital kiosks, the kiosks are shut off for the night at around 8.

Also, you say they will not be friends or family but will also be a non-pro. So who would do this?

Unless you have a very small guest list, I think this is a lot of hassle. And it will be pretty pricey as well. People usually enter in a clump, not one by one. By the time everyone enters, the non-pro will have to then run around to take a second candid shot. How will he/she be sure they got everyone?

I'd just skip it or get a photo booth set up and do that or hire a pro who can do on-site printing.

    HTH!

    Ceremony & Reception @ same place: 430Pm ceremony - 5pm cocktail - 6pm dinner.

Also - I have seen on some forums that if you talk to the store manager, you can talk to them about being prepped for a large batch order coming @ a certain hour to reserve your slot to get them process.

We haven't quite figured out any details yet on the candid shots but the upon entering for dinner or at the place card table are prime opps for a couples shot.
On the cruise, it was pretty fast to get that shot exiting the ship prior to an excursion.

Your points are ALL Valid!  Luv the insights!

It might actually be better to have a small digital printer at the reception,  you can buy cheap ones at less than $100 or bring your home one, set it up take some images upload and print them, no running around, no worry about the store closing, and instant access.  Our studio has a traveling printer, we do a "first kiss" shot at the ceremony have it printed and framed in one of those signature frames before the guests even get to the reception, it's always a hit and the printer is small enough to fit in a backpack

Only drawback is you would have to buy 2 printers maybe even four to keep the production line running.
    Staff it.
AND risk a breakdown on site.
Just thinking of the risks.  LOL!
