Photographer with disposable cameras

Has anyone use disposable cameras at their reception? If so, how did it turn out?

Some couples who have done this have had bad results. Pictures were too dark, blurry, etc. Many guests will bring their own digital camera to take pictures. You can ask your guests to upload their pictures to a photo sharing site like Shutterfly.

They are a great idea when people did not own digital cameras and smart phones with cameras. Some people can take a good picture with the disposable camera but most people can't. Save yourself some money and leave cards with a site for the guests to upload there photos too. You may also get a lot of photos posted to Facebook of your wedding. A self made photobooth would most likely be a lot less expensive if you just want fun pics of your guests.

A fellow Knottie on my month/year board did a PSA about this subject. You may find it insightful. I am having trouble with the link so....You can find it on the October 2011 club board. It is on the 5th page about halfway down called PSA: Wedding Table Disposable Cameras

we had disposable cameras and we also included a link in our thank-you cards where people could upload pics too. Out of 170 guests, no one uploaded any pictures but all the disposable cameras were used. Most came out dark / grainy as is typical with disposables, but we got some good pictures. The reception coordinator put one out on the bar, so the bartender took ones of people coming over there for us which was great, and it was fun to see the pictures all the kids took from their "little people" perspectives :)

I, personally, would say don't waste your time.  By the time you spend the $ to buy them and develop them you could have a couple hundred extra to invest in an awesome real photographer.  Plus they make your pretty tables looks messy. Children often are the only ones who use them (if they even get used) cause adults have their own cameras they are using.  Hope this helps some.
