Photographer deposit help...

I've made a decision on a photographer, but am wondering what an average amount is for a deposit to reserve the date.  My photographer is asking for 33% and I just want to make sure that's appropriate.  Any help you can offer would be great! Thanks so much!

    Ive found that most photographers have somewhere between a 30-50% deposit. So i think you should be fine with a 33% deposit.

    mine required 50% at booking, the rest in full on day of wedding

    IMO anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 is fair. My photog received final payment when the photo proofs were delivered.

    Ours required approximately a 25% deposit and then scheduled payment dates for four months after booking, six months before the wedding, and then two weeks before the wedding. All of our payments are the same amount.
