Did your bridal shower have a theme?

If so, what was it? How did your hostess fit it in?

Sex and the City. We drank cosmos and wore sexy shoes.

I was about to say, "themes are lame" but then I saw Leah's and changed my mind.

I think it depends on what you do with it. If you use the theme to inspire the food/drink/games, it works well. I've been to several luau themed couples showers. (Awesome when you can get the guys to wear the coconut bras and grass skirts.) I think when you start making people buy a gift within your theme or you make them go out and buy a whole new outfit is when it really starts to suck.

My DDs shower theme was loosely "love is sweet".  It was an early afternoon shower, and menu was all desserts.  Each BM brought along a favorite dessert, as did I, MOG, and one of my friends. We had wine, and strawberry lemonade.  MOG made favors:  a heart shaped cookie cutter with a family recipe for sugar cookies attached.

Nope. Just food, alcohol, and presents. No complaints :)

My MOH came up with the theme "Fashionably in Love"  (my wedding them is "Fall in Love").Since I LOVE fashion...I think what she plans on doing is giving accessories as prizes to guest during the different games.  Do the traditional something new, borrowed, or blue, for me, with fashion in mind. But most of all, the fashionable thing is just to come and join the party and spend time with the bride....that will be the best gift of all.  So, we are going to sit back, have a few drinks, and have a wonderful time.As my MOH so perfectly stated in the invite:"This is it! It's homage to all things that make us feel as beautiful on the outside as we are on the inside. So raise your umbrella drinks high as we toast to love...because love never goes out of style!" and "The best gift of all is sharing your love and well wishes"
A happy newlywed...now time to start a family!
