how long before the wedding should A bridal shower happen?

    It all depends on the time of year. My wedding is in Feb so about a month and a half prior is the shower because I can barely get time off from work Jan-April but my boss approved for Jan 14th off. Many happen a few weeks prior. More than 3 months is a bit much as you are not supposed to use the gifts until after the wedding.
