Marriage license question

This might be a silly question, I don't know...

Anyway, I know the waiting period for the license is 72 hours and I know it can't be over 30 days old. That being said...do you get the license the day you apply and then can't use it for 72 hours, or do you have to go back and pick it up 72 hours after applying?

I'm jw cause I live out of state but will need the Texas license so I just am trying to plan how early I must get it and get in town. I can't ever seem to call the place and ask due to the time difference and work schedule. So I figured y'all might know.

You get it right then when you apply for it.

Great! That helps a lot then cause with my FI work it was going to be hard if we had to get it after 72 hours. It'd be a lot of time he'd have to take off to be there that early. I'm a teacher so once it's summer I don't care about days off!
