We got our 8 year old ring bearer and his 4 year old little sister flower girl watches.  Swatch makes a Flik Flak line that are high quality kids watches - they come in all sorts of patterns and younger and more grown up versions.  We knew we wanted to get them something that was a keepsake, not jewelry, and age-appropriate.  I had one when I was little and I remember it to this day.  I also ordered from England because they were hard to find in the states and with the exchange rate the shipping basically canceled out:http://www.buyaswatch.co.uk/categories.php?cat=184
