regestry - upon our star

Re: regestry - upon our star

  • Yet another reason these type of registries are not a good idea. I'll never understand why engaged couples don't think their guests just can't give cash.

  • Another great reason to tell people to avoid cash registries. They may not get money their guests gifted thru the registry.

  • Cash registries are SO TRASHY!
  • Their fees are so high, anyway. And their terms are sketchy.

So they can't put a check or money order in a congratulations card and mail it to you?

I'm confused since your OP wasn't asking a question.  After posting your most recent reply, are you asking if it's okay to register for cash?  Because it's not. People will give cash if they want without needing a go-between-website to keep a percentage of the cash to do so.

  • People have been able to give gifts long before the Internet was common. Cash/HM registries aren't neccessary for those not in attendance to give a gift. And logically those registries do not make it easier.

  • I didn't think about trashy before we used it for our wedding....BUT AFTER USING IT, UPON OUR STAR are more like CROOKS!!!

They hit you up with a rediculous fee in the first place, then wire transfer the money, which again costs money to me...

    STAY FAR AWAY!!!
  • HAS ANYONE HAD TROUBLE COLLECTING FUNDS FROM UPON OUR STAR? I AM HAVING TROUBLE ....are they a scam / they certenily are not easy to contact!
  • Has everyone received their funds though? I Got got an email from them 2 days ago saying the bank transfer wast successful so they said we can do it through PayPal. I have sent 4 emails since and haven't heard anything back. It's been 14 days since I asked to collect funds.
  • I don't know how I missed these posts in the past, but I did, and unfortunately I created a registry with Upon Our Star and am now having trouble collecting funds. Could anyone above that had problems as well, please respond as to whether they were able to receive their funds?

No one from this thread is around. These types of registries are a bad idea, as you have found out. If you want discuss something from a thread that is more than a year old, please create a new one. But you won't find many favorable responses about cash registries around here. Sorry and I hope you eventually get the money. This is why you should just not register if you want cash, guests know cash is always appropriate and appreciated.
