Summer Weddings

indoor summer wedding

hi everyone,

does anyone have ideas for colors and themes for an indoor summer wedding in june? i'm having trouble (and regrets) about booking my entire wedding indoors. i couldnt afford the venues on the water so i went with a venue in the gardens but my cocktails and reception is still indoors.

  • First off, no regrets. It's going to be a beautiful day!  Here are a few things to think about:
    - You're having a garden ceremony, so why not make 'garden' your theme and bring that indoors?  You can use greens and pinks, blues, purples, really it's whatever you want!

    - Think about your favorite color.  What would you love to see everywhere?

    - You mentioned wanting to have your wedding on the water, why not bring your favorite things about the water into your reception? Use deep blues, light blues, etc. and have a subtle 'water' theme.

  • Having an indoor wedding is a great idea. You don't have to worry about heat in the summer or random weather (at any time). I think you should just use your favorite colors. You could also find a favor or decoration you like and pick your colors or theme based on that. I'm doing black and white with a little bit of silver. The only color I plan on having is a little bit of pink because of the stargazers in my bouquet and there's wall lightning options, which I will choose my favorite color of blue.
Of course you want to have the magical day that you and everyone will remember but other than pictures, almost no one will really remember the details.

I love the idea of bringing the outdoors inside to your reception. Here's a few color boards that might be helpful

Otherwise try www.theperfectpalette.blogspot.com it was a HUGE help when I was trying to narrow down my colors and theme
  • I'm just using my favorite color, lavender. I think it's a good idea to have an indoor wedding-no bugs, weather changes, or wind, which is why I'm choosing to marry indoors. :-)

  • I am also having an totally indoor summer wedding. The way I went about figuring out the colors was by starting with flowers. I knew that flowers would be pretty important to me so I met with a florist to discuss the following: types of flowers I liked, which ones were in-season, and then what colors they came in.

From there I was able to narrow it down. So I'm kinda of working a little backwards...but I have the flowers picked out and now I'm going to do the bridesmaid dress color and groomsmen ties.  Somehow it makes sense to me!

Good luck - let us know what you end up deciding!
