FI and I are considering getting married and honeymooning in Hawaii (just the 2 of us), then coming back home to have the huge "reception" type party. Is anyone else doing this? We both have big families so it would be ~150 guests. I guess I'm just not sure how it would go since it's not the norm. I'm thinking have it 8pm on a Saturday, serve heavy apps and open bar, have DJ but none of the typical bouquet toss, first dance, etc. Anyone planning to do this type of scenario, I would love to know details.
Also I'm worried that more of the family won't come to this type of event since they are all coming from long distances.
