Great has anyone???

I think I will be on my period during my wedding. Has anyone been there? Help... :)

Re: Great has anyone???

  • How long until your wedding?  Are you on the pill at all?

  • Sept 8th and no I am not on the pill I had my tubes done a few years back... UHGGG
  • Yeah, with less than two weeks there's not much you can do.

  • I figured just wanted to see how others felt or haad they been through. Oh well it'll be ok.
  • Mother nature has horrible timing, huh?  I'm pretty regular, so I believe that on my wedding date I should be good, but one never knows!  Just give your future spouse a head's up.

  • Oh I told his crazy butt. He just laughed at me.

  • A cool shower/bath an hour before will minimize the flow, also old wives tale is to eat beets. Congrats and good luck.
  • Oh, just grab a towel and go for it.  Or use the shower, for that "reliving the scene in psycho" moment.    Unless you have some religious reason, it never stopped me (but I tell you, it's stories like this that make menopause all worth it!).
image Don't mess with the old dogs; age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill! BS and brilliance only come with age and experience.
  • Sometimes stress can mess with your schedule, so if your wedding date is around the beginning of your period, you might be late ...

Towels work (dark colours make it less of a CSI scene), or you can get menstral cups that can be worn during intercourse (not all of them can). I found a brand called Softcups, and I think that they used to be called Instead.

(and I had my period during my first wedding. PMS and crazy ILs made it a delightful week leading up to the big day!)

  • It looks like I'm going to have to worry about it, too. I planned around it when I set the date and then my cycle changed a few months ago. I don't have any advice for you, but if it makes you any better you're not alone. :-)

If you're on the pill, you can start a new pack and skip your period for that month. Safe to do!

I meant the other poster who still has a couple of months. And yes, she should check with her doctor first.

    Gotta say, I can't blame him.  What's the big deal?  I'm not getting it ... <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif" border="0" alt="Undecided" title="Undecided" />
  • Oh man. I'm so glad I don't have to worry about periods anymore. This is really a bummer - I'm sorry! :(

  • I had mine with my first AND second wedding. It's my luck :) It wasn't that bad. Just wear a tampon and a thin pad for extra security. Go to the bathroom often and make sure the dress is no where near the toilet when you go! Mine wasn't a crazy big poofy dress or anything, so that helped in lifting it up and out of the way. If your venue has a bridal suite that you can get with your own bathroom, it is well worth it since they will be much bigger than even the handicap stall. And yes, a dark towel works for the honeymoon :) Good luck and congrats!
