Jewelry and Shoes? PIP!

My MOH tells me I should wear pearls with this dress, but for some reason, I'm not really feeling it. Maybe I'll feel better about it once I put some on with the dress, but I'm wondering if something else might look just fine too. Do you think the dress is too ornate with the lace to handle a necklace, earrings, and a bracelet? I think pearls would be nice, but I wear pearls all the time - I kinda want something different. First off, your dress is gorgeous! Secondly, YOU are gorgeous. I think the ornate lace is wonderful with your skin tone. And a sweetheart neckline looks really good with your body type. [:)] Just wanted to say that... Here's what I would do. Wear the shoes (they are super classy with the lace dress but unexpected. They'll work for a semi-formal/casual wedding). And pearls would be lovely, but if you do wear the shoes you should go for more bold and sparkly jewelry. Although, I have read countless sources advising against wearing all three: bracelet, necklace, and earrings. But...it's your big day and if you want to wear 5 of each you can! Anywho, I think that some chandalier earrings with lots of sparkle and a pearl and diamond/rhinestone ornate multi-strand bracelet would look fabulous. A necklace, unless its small pearls or a pendant, may take away from that gorgeous neckline and your wonderful frame. Cassie, thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful compliments! You are so sweet. I appreciate that! I LOVE your bracelet idea (pearls and rhinestones) and I agree about the necklace possibly taking away but the chandelier earrings sound beautiful! Unfortunately, I couldn't see your pictures, but I have a mental idea about what you're talking about. Thanks so much! That sounds great. And thanks for the advice on the shoes! I think they'd be really fun!

I think you should wear what you want.   It is a good idea to make sure the jewelry is "balanced" though (e.g., if you wear a big chunky necklace, don't wear big attention-getting earrings... if you wear big earrings, don't wear a big necklace, etc.).  My dress was all lace, and I made a bracelet to go with it that had a combination of pearls and crystal beads.  Then I bought a simple necklace and earrings to match.  You can see pics in my married bio under the anticipation section.

I would skip a necklace and wear a bracelet and chandelier earrings. I just bought a really cool bracelet from ebay that would look great with your dress. I say no necklace because I would want the focus to be on that awesome sweetheart neckline. Just my opinion though.

I don't think a small, simple necklace would take away from the neckline at all.

Hi Love - it's Rivini. I have a strange body type and for some reason, every one of those dresses by Rivini I tried on, I loved! It was hard to make a decision, but that dress felt perfect.

! Nice! The woman at the store told me that they don't put dresses newer than 2007 on the website! I'm on the site, but the images aren't loading! Serena - is it the picture I posted above? Or is it a better picture?

I actually think a necklace might be nice with the sweetheart neckline, such as a drop pendant or something.  I agree that sparkly would be better than pearls.I think you can do a necklace, earings, and bracelet - as long as it is balanced as the other posts have said.  Or do a drop earings and a bracelet.How are you wearing your hair?I love the shoes btw!

If you decide on a necklace and want to do earrings, I think you can, as long as they are studs and not chandeliers.

Hi Raz! Thanks for your ideas. I agree on the balance thing. Not sure about my hair! I have some hair ideas in my planning bio, but I was thinking partially up and partially down. I think I want to keep it away from the neckline, but I'm not too sure at this point. I love those shoes too. They're so pretty!

What a small world!  I almost went to Flagler but decided to go to UCF instead.  It's such a beautiful campus.  I would have had my wedding there if they allowed it lol.

Thanks .  Not many people know that the Gov't House can be booked for events.  It's one of the best kept secrets in St. Augustine lol.  The DIY projects were a lot of fun, and the girls on the DIY board a big help.  I decided not to go to Flagler because it was smaller than my high school, and I just couldn't deal with that so I chose UCF which was the exact opposite lol (it's now the 3rd biggest school in the country).

I didn't know that about UCF! Flagler feels like high school - honestly worse at times. It's so cliquey. Oh well...almost outta there. I was looking for the DIY board and didn't see it right off the bat, but now I'll go find it for sure! Thanks again!
