When to book make up trial?

Hi girls. I plan on hiring a make up artist for the big day. Im curious as to when to start calling people and making an appointment for the make up trial. Any ideas? Thanks.

    You better start looking now.  Around here the best MUA book up a year in advance.  Once you find one set up a trial right away so if you don't like their work you can find someone else.

    Hi I hope this helps, as a Make Up Artist in the bridal industry We always reccomend booking us atleast 6 months in advance. Some of us will have your special day open last minute if you get lucky which is possible. Im not sure what area you are in But in Northern California We like to have contracts signed depost put down to secure the date some MUA charge extra for booking so close to your date and might require the full payment be put down because of the short notice. Salons might be harder to book at this time but freelance artists who travel to you might be easier.
