Jewish/Interfaith Wedding Reception: When to Hora??

Hi Friends!

I'm Jewish, my fiance is spiritual-but-not-religious, and we are having an interfaith wedding (ceremony led by my rabbi with both Jewish and non-Jewish components).  Another interesting note: I converted to Judaism in high school, so I don't have a Jewish family and have only been to one Jewish wedding.

Here's my question: My fiance and I are planning out our reception and weren't sure where to put the hora dancing.  The Jewish wedding we went to had the hora right after the grand entrance of the bride and groom, and we both LOVED it. Set such a fun, celebratory tone.

BUT- we brought this up to our DJ and he recommended having the hora later-- after toasts, dinner, first dances, etc-- right before the dance floor opens up for the night.  He said that having the hora right at the start would make it hard to get people back into their seats and keep the flow of the evening going.

I'm not as keen on this plan, but I also trust his judgement as a DJ, so I'm not sure what to do.

Anyone have an opinion on this?  When does the hora traditionally happen?

Thank you so much for your help!!
