So we have a long lived family tradition that FI and I will do. We have a cake cutting set that has been used by every member of our family since my great great grandparents. It is a stunning silver set and it passes from one family to the other. We have not missed a single wedding yet everyone had used it. We have a sheet of paper in the box where every bride and groom has signed and dated when they have used it. My cousins wedding was the last so her mom has it. My mom will go and pick it up and have it for us, then as my brother is the next wedding she will keep it till next year then hold it till the next one.
