Firefighter wedding

I am the daughter of a diceased firefighter and I also happen to be marrying a firefighter. Any ideas on how I can incorporate the firefighter theme into the wedding without being too extreme. We are having a very traditional wedding and a large portion of our guests are firefighters.

Leave in a firetruck! My uncle did that for his wedding (he's a volunteer fireman) and it was really cool.

I had a friend marry a firefighter and they did pictures with a fire truck.  They got some cool pictures of all the of the wedding party on the truck, the bride and groom in helmets and the bride in the big books. It was really cute!

My FI is a firefighter so I have been to a ton of firefighter weddings!  We are getting a vintage fire truck from a neighboring station to take pictures with.  My friends now husband had a cute idea for when he was getting her garter...he played a fire themed song, had the DJ have a fog machine, the lights were low, and he had his helmet on....then he crawled out there like he was in a fire and his groomsmen has helmets on and were behind him like for help if he needed it! haha....he wanted to roll hose out before he crawled out there but she wouldnt let him!  it was really cute!

FI is a fire fighter too! The trucks will be at the ceremony and we will also have the honor guard there. For the reception I found the awesome fire helmet planters that are perfect for centerpieces. They are low and are perfect to fill with flowers. I wanted to incoporate something like this for him but did not want it to be the focus of the wedding. I got them from firebell.com. The guy I spoke to was awesome. Also, we were looking at cake toppers. We haven't found one yet, but there are a lot out there.

FI is a volunteer firefighter as well so I want to incorparate something simple into it.
Dollar tree has plastic Jr. Fireman helmets and I poked holes on 2 sides and attached a ribbon through and we might use it as our flowergirl basket. You could also put these on the reception tables. My mom said something about trying to find little fireboots to use as decorations with flowers on the tables.

That cake and the garters are super cute! I thought about adding a firefighter related charm to my garter.

i was going to make our tables  stations from his dept instead of normal table numbers (station 71,72, etc) and get little envelope seal sized sticker with the maltese cross to put on escort card, strangley FI decided he didn't really want the FF stuff so much....but wanted orgami escort cards instead....but I thought it was a cute way to give a nod to FF without having it take over
