post a picture of yoru chuppah

Just got back from a meeting with our florist who is designing our chuppah and was very underwhelmed by what they designed.

Post a photo of your chuppah for inspiration! Thanks!

Rachiemoo - that is GORGEOUS! I'm using pink too so I hope mine comes out half that pretty (since I'm decorating it myself, half that pretty is about all I can hope for, lol).

We are using the one from our shul; but I did ask for a picture and I am underwhelmed also. I was not expecting anything elaborate and we are allowed to decorate the poles with flowers; but the symbol looks like a red sun, whereas my theme colors are shades of purple and maybe even some pink! I saw a beautiful chuppah covering; but I am just not sure if we can swing the extra $$$ . I am going to ask to see it in person... I'd like to say that this is something that I can let go; but I can't....

Jeni, you should contact this woman: http://www.archrentals.com/

we wanted to do something like the ones she has with pillars, but she won't ship to Cincinnati. She does have a store in LA, though.

Thanks! The colors really popped! I can't take the credit though, my florist put it together for me. I bet you can have a DIY chuppah that is gorgeous though, maybe try to do a run through once before the big day? I think simple chuppahs are really pretty too.

my florist, lee vazquez. I highly recommend her, she's absolutely wonderful and she is pretty affordable compared to a lot of other NY florists.

oh also, if you check out the "ceremony" section on her website, she has a few other styles of chuppahs there that you ladies could use for inspiration.

Yeah, its hard being a Cincinnati bride with NY tastes! Our florist is amazing, but this is the first chuppah she has created, so any photos or inspirations are extremely helpful.

Its sort of frustrating, I mean Cincinnati has a pretty big Jewish community, so you'd think there would be someone who was experienced in designing a chuppah, but we haven't found that person yet.

Thank you parker624. I actually found the perfect covering which is shades of purple with, "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine". It just looks like it would mesh better with everything...not to mention the stained glass windows that are right behind us...

I know you already saw just what you wanted but I am so excited about mine that I wanted to show it off!

It is going to be standing on basic poles but we are going to have handmade hamsas from our family and friends at the top of the poles.

well the chuppah itself is my FSIL's, and it's pretty on it's own - all I'm DIYing are the flowers. And we've already got things set up so we can decorate it the night before, after the rehearsal dinner. So hopefully between me, two moms, and six bridesmaids, we can rig up something nice.

Our chuppah was so meaningful for us because it was entirely hand created by friends. It's so hard to get the full sense of it in this shot but the posts and top are wisteria branches, and the canopy is a hand sewn silk quilt in sage green, ivory, and pale coffee colored panels. We wanted it to be carried in so final construction happened on site that morning (which made for fabulous, fun getting ready pictures). Photo by Jasmine Photography.

vWe got married in our synagogue - I wanted the look very clean, simple and elegant and couldn't have been more happy with how it came out.

We were suppose to have our ceremony outside, but it rained on my wedding day. We had to move the ceremony inside the hotel. I ended up liking the back up chuppah.

Having the right chuppah that you are happy with definitly makes the ceremony. We were on a minimulist budget and were luckily my sister had purchased her chuppah from NJ Chuppah http://www.njchuppah.com and we were able to use it. The fact that she my sister was also married under that chuppah made it extra memorable
