Auf Ruf candy

What candy did you have thrown at teh aufruf? My partner is fish allergic, and most soft candies with "kosher gelitian" have fish in them, so that's out.  Any ideas? Our synagague does not allow peanuts. I thought kisses, for the cute factor, but he's worried they will hurt. The criteria are kosher, fish free, and soft!

Do you think there will be kids there wanting to eat the candy or will it mostly be a ceremonius candy throwing?  You can always use marshmellows!  Not the most exciting candy, but they're nice and soft.

I didn't realize candy was typically thrown at aufrufs.  We didn't have any thrown at ours.

we had those sunkist individually wrapped candies.  they're pretty soft, not sure if there is fish/gelitin in them though:

Thanks, the sunkist fruit things might just work-- they seem to use pectin rather than gelatin.

a word about marshmellows:  most are not kosher, and the kosher ones taste terrible.

kosher marshmallows also usually have fish in them (gelatin). I'd need to find individually wrapped kosher vegan ones.

I think we are going with the sunkist candies. Apparently at one of the two synagogues where we are doing this, someone got a black eye from a flying Hershey kiss, so now they only allow soft candy.
