Baraat before ceremony

Are you having (or did you have) a Baraat before your ceremony? If so, how long will it (or did it) last for?

    Yes my fiance is having a baraat before ceremony with a horse and mobile DJ

    My Hubz also had a Baraat.  He came on a horse with his serbala (his nephew dressed like him) and his entired family with a doli (hired)

    It lasted longer than expected...LOL  My in laws were really enjoying the 'parade' and they had a very good doli so it was a lot of fun for them...plus they wanted to make my husbands arrival that much more special!

    Hi Priya490,

    My FI is trying to keep barat entrance/dancing etc to 30 mins( i think it may not happen as indian weddings are never on time). We are trying to push for 30 mins so that we start wedding on time and then we can get out early to have pictures before reception.

    My FI keeps sayin' no to the baraat. Our wedding ceremony has to start at 8:50 am, the priest told him he has to be at the mandap by 8:30 am and my FI's worried about his family not being on-time for a baraat.
