PSA: Info on Banquet Permits

So I've been a "Bride Brain" with little WR details for the past few weeks, and getting the banquet permit was one of them.

FI and I got ours today, which is 2 weeks before the event.  And it's good we did because 2 weeks is the absolute latest you can get it!

Be sure to check your contract with your venue, and if your caterer is not providing the banquet permit, and if your venue requires a permit (to serve alcohol) BE SURE TO BUY IT AT LEAST TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT.  My Bride Brain almost forgot, and I was "thisclose" to missing the deadline, and we might not have been able to serve alcohol at the reception!

I don't remember talking about this on TK, so I wanted to make sure no Bride forgot!

Do you know how early you can get one?  I didn't see the info on the LCB site ... thanks for the heads up!

From what I understood from the guy at the liquor store we went to, you can get it at any time (as long as it is at least 2 weeks BEFORE).

Interesting-- as I bought mine about 4 days before, and my day-of coordinator said she'd once had to run out in the middle of a wedding and buy one since the couple forgot.  Not sure the liquor store guy was straight up with you.

reebsreebs - It sounds like you got lucky.

As it says on the website:  http://liq.wa.gov/licensing/banquet-permits
It says 2 weeks prior to the event, but maybe some Liquor Control Board agents aren't as picky as others about following the "rules."
