Table number help please!!

Hey Ladies!!  I have a table number question:  Should I have a table number at the head table?  I am making the table numbers myself, and didn't know if I should make a "Table 1" for the head table, or not.  Should "table 1" be for my family instead and then have the wedding party's escort cards just say "Head Table?"  I am lost!  Any help would be much appreciated!!

If you are having a true head table (no sweetheart) then I would number that number 1 and so on. If you are having a sweatheart table then I think you're fine starting the guest tables with number 1

I've been in several weddings and there were never escort cards for the wedding party.  I'm not sure when we would've had a chance to even get them - we always went right from the bridal lounge area into the reception for the grand entrance.  In the cases of the weddings I've been in, we were always just told to sit in a particular order at the head table.  I'm not sure if that's normal or not, but it seems to be in my area.  I think the only case that escort cards would be needed for the wedding party would be if you did a sweetheart table and the rest of the wedding party would have a separate table.

If you decide to do escort cards regardless, I would say to list them as "Head Table."

On another note, I'm interested to hear what your DIY table numbers and escort cards are like.  We have our table numbers incorporated with our centerpieces, but I'm drawing a blank on what to do for escort cards!

Thanks for your help!!  Our venue is an art museum, so for our table numbers we are using 8x10 gold frames.  Each table with have the frame, with a unique print of our favorite art pieces in each frame.  In the foregrwound of each art print, there wll be a black number :)

Head tables never have numbers because it`s a given that that`s where the bride and groom and the bridal party, if applicable will be sitting.  So don`t worry about that.

If you're having a head table, please please consider letting your bridal party's significant others sit with them. I know you want them next to you on your big day, but it's rather awkward for the significant others, especially if they hardly know any of your guests. Speaking from personal experience. :/
