I really needed one. the old one had a ripped seat and wasn't very comfortable. I bought it second hand five years ago for $40, so I got my money's worth out of it.
Anyway, the old one had big open arm rests like this:
So if I sat on the front part of the chair (which is my habit), Stanley could hop under the arm rest to occupy the bag half of the chair. He spends 90% of the day there so that we can share our mutual butt warmth.
The new chair has arms like this:
He was so, so sad. I thought at first that the new chair would be a good excuse to wean him off of my butt, but I am a pathetic giver-inner when it comes to a sighing dog. So now I guess I'll be lifting him on and off my chair for the rest of my days.
