Reception Meltdown

I want to renew my vows since we never really had a wedding. I'm hoping for a very inexpensive small wedding with close family and friends. I would really love to have a mini reception at my house, however there is no room and no one I really know has a big enough house to have it in. I did think of Vegas, but my grandmother can't really travel so it has to be in town or close by. Another thought was maybe ceremony only? I don't know what to do. I'm just sooo confused. ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE?

    (1) this is a vow renewal, not a wedding. The big difference is that a vow renewal should be small and intimate and not include a gift registry.

    (2) Would you consider a park? http://www.laparks.org/ <I took the liberty of googling that for you for parks in the los angeles area. You need to think out of the box for this. You could really even find a party room at a restaurant for your vow renewal. You can make it work.

I had my ceremony in a gazebo in a local park followed by dinner for 35 guests in a private room at a favorite restaurant. It was really nice and I wouldn't change a thing. Something similar might work well for you.
