NDHR: my porch light is burned out

Solutions? It's really high up there and I don't have a ladder high enough to reach it. I don't really have time to get a ladder either. DH has some work lights I could use, but I'm afraid it will look lame. I need the porch light for trick or treaters.

Turn on your inside lights and make sure you have a jack-o'lantern. That should be enough.

Are you willing to sit outside?  It would probably be difficult if you have The Boy, though.

do you have any decorations out? just turn on the house lights or keep the front door open (if you have a storm door.)

We do have some decorations. I may just see if I can use one of the work lights but put something over it so it casts a shadow. And will hopefully look spooky.

I sat outside because ours was burnt out.  In my hood the houses most decorated were also the ones NOT handing out candy.
