Wedding guest attire

Going to be a guest at a wedding and need input.  Is this dress too much white or is it an acceptable balance of white & black? Please excuse my make-up free face. :P

well, it's darker than the wall behind you, so I'd say it's light gray and not white :).

EDIT: Which is to say, I think it'd be fine to wear to a wedding.

i think adding a black shawl/jacket/shrug or something would make it a litttttle bit better. i think it's kinda borderline...depends on how bridezilla the bride is :)

Niq - good point.  I think it's because it's got a black lining behind the white organza.

Jenn - I was thinking of adding some color jewelry pieces.  It's for this weekend which looks like another warm weekend in the 80's.  And yes, I did cut my hair. :)

I think it will be fine as long as you don't wear white/off white/etc shoes.  A black shawl would help, and you might be able to wear it w/o becoming too hot if the wedding is early enough in the day (I think weather should be about what it is today-ish= cooler morning, warmer evening).

But they're wedge shoes - does that help?

It will probably be okay, imo.  I think we all (on this board) put WAY more thought into these things than anyone else.  As long as you don't sport a tiara or veil, it shouldn't be seen as "stealing the spotlight" from the bride.  I think WA is chill enough you should get away with the dress and shoes, especially since it is summer.

Yeah, I think it will be.  As I recall, it's a semi-formal wedding and outdoors-ish.  I'm going to try to add some color to the ensemble with the jewelry for sure.

Koosh - thank you! :)  I had it cut the day we got back from Mexico.

    1 - love the hair!
2 - I think it's an ok amount of white.
3 - Is this for Sara or Jenny's wedding?  B/c if so, you can probably find out for sure what they think in this thread.  ;)

First of all, I love the new hair. Not sure on the dress. I agree with everyone else if you add a jacket and some colored peices that can help. Could you just ask the bride?... My rule of thumb for dressing (I apply this to work attire a lot), if I am questioning it I probably shouldn't wear it. The black lining does really help though and it probably looks more grey in person than in the picture.

It looks gray in the photo (as pp said), so it's that's how it looks in real life I think it's great!
