I found a veil for over 900 that I loved, got it made for MUCH less by an etsy person. Found a hair comb I loved for 450... found someone on etsy to make it MUCH cheaper... found shoes I loved for like 889.... found ones that look almost identical for 100...

My point is, everything i found was crazy pricey, but I found something, or had it specifically made to significantly decrease the price. That is what I would do here. Find a picture of the belt, post it on etsy and have someone make it for you.

I definitly agree with BP about etsy - I found someone to duplicate an expensive purse I had seen and she did it for about $50.  It came out PERFECT.  and I used another etsy seller for custom jewelry for my BM's which also came out awesome.  Also, BP - I used RemnantsbyEva for my hankies, small world.

(this is still ooodsie btw... something is completely messed up with my other account and it still won't let me login, boo)

I cant imagine spending 1k for a sash and some small alterations.  In your own words, on your wedding website, you are "obsessed" with your dress... the original version.  Its not like you needed to make changes to the dress to like it, you loved it from the start!  I would look for a cheaper version of the sash (like pp recommended etsy or something), and take some time to think about it.  Try going back to the store by yourself, without any other opinions or hype, and just see if you love the dress as is, and how much more you love the dress when the sash is added.  That additional $1,000 can go a long way if you put it towards other wedding stuff.

    Good luck!!
