daisy centerpieces?

Our flowers will be orange gerbera daisies mixed with a purple flower(haven't decided yet) but I can't seem to figure out a cool idea for a centerpiece.  I was thinking a medium sized vase with a few daisies in it, then I have the beads you "grow" in water to put in them also.  Any ideas? Pictures?

Re: daisy centerpieces?

  • We are using fuscia gerber daisys for out centerpieces. We are actually just using one daisy and will have it submersed in water with colored marbles and stones and the bottom of the vase. We are using small square vases.

  • Risa- what region of MT are you in?

Orange and purple are pretty colors mixed.  What about mixing with Iris?  Then it adds a bit of yellow too.  And maybe Monte Casino little flowers as a filler.  Are they DIY or by a florist?  I prefer foam for centerpieces, as they hold the shape of what you're going for better, and are better for lower centerpieces.  Vases tend to get tall, especially when the rule of thumb is 1.5x taller than the vase.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • Stattice is a pretty purple flower to pair with gerberas.  The shapes are different and it lends texture.   Since stattice is considered a filler flower it is reasonably priced.  Its dark purple color will pop against orange gerberas.   Gerberas look good in ginger jar vases and simple column vases.   I would skip the vase gems and let the flowers shine.
  • I'm also using daisies for my flowers and I used mason jars put three flowers in them. I decorated them to look more formal (ribbon and tool). Just an idea not sure how formal your wedding is.
  • Thanks everyone!! I'll definitely look into all of your ideas.
