DIY Card Box & Table # assignments

Anybody have any ideas for a DIY card box? I saw one where you make a box out of frames, that was really cute. But I am just curious if anybody else has any ideas?
Also, I need a way to display the table assignments? We are not doing assigned seats, just tables. There are 20 tables, 8 at each. Our colors are malibu blue & lime green, and we are focusing alot of Gerbera daisies. So, if anybody has any ideas that would be great. I was thinking of doing escort cards, but I feel like that is just for assigned seats?

Here are pictures of my card box and my seating chart.  We only assigned tables not seats as well.

Seating chart...I honestly could have done more to it, but it's just a seating chart, doesn't have to be super special or elaborate as long as it tells your guests what they need to know that is all that matters.

Card box...the scroll work on the card box was used on my invites and my table number frames as well.  I had fun making my card box because I like craft things like this but I also really like the lazy susan frame idea that you mentioned as well.

This is the kind of seating chart I like. I was wondering tho, were your table numbers random? And why do you have 1 persons name in bold at the top of the table assignments?

H and I got married at Ravens Stadium in Baltimore.  The names at the top and the coordinating numbers were/are Raven's players.  Since our numbers were "random" and not the typical 1,2,3,etc we made sure that the seating chart resembled how the tables were set up in our location.  So just imagine round tables at each of the spots where the table numbers on the chart are and that is basically how our reception was set up.

i'm not a fan of charts, i find there's a big crowd of people and i always forget which table i'm assigned to.
i like cards so that i can put the card at my seat when i get to it so taht no one else takes it.

as for the card box-i made mine from what i guess was a thick cardboard hat box that i found at a craft store. i painted it and decorated it. easy

That was such a good idea!! Married at the Ravens stadium?! Wow! My FI would die if we could marry in Raiders stadium, unfornately its across the country from us. That really was a great idea! So creative.

We're doing a wedding at the shore with a nautical theme.  I'm working on finding a crab trap/lobster trap to use for my card box.  And I got sand dollars that will be used for the escort cards.

ETA - FYI - escort cards are for table number, placecards are for assigned seating.  I've actually never seen placecards before - only escort cards.

my wedding had an "italian food and wine" sort of theme about it.  i ended up using a wine crate as my card box ... kind of like this except with a card slot in the top: http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mBlNhvWjGJzMHe7yOvK5GXw.jpg
does your wedding have a theme?  maybe do a flowerpot card box or watering can or something?

we used place cards.... but perhaps you can have a table that has large photo frames listing out the tables?
i could see a table with 2 or 3 11x14 frames with sometihng like this in them: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-98wMmUYdcX8/T-KRrn2ZhBI/AAAAAAAAB5A/ijLRK6E8mhg/s1600/Seating+Arrangement_5.jpg

and then you could put a few 5x7s of your engagement photos or some other decor around them.
