Ship the Dress

I'm thinking of shipping my dress to my destination (my parents live there so it will go to their house) instead of taking it on the plane with me. Has anyone done this or thought of doing it? It makes me a little nervous, but would be so conevenient. Any thoughts?

I agree with Ashley, if you ship it, make sure its insured.  Also, suggest sending it UPS or FedEx Next Day Air. I wouldn't mess around with shipping it ground.

Personally I wouldn't let my dress out of my sight. I've received way too many packages that were totally beat up or soaking wet. What are you going to do if they damage or lose your dress? Insurance isn't going to help much when you're a couple of days out from your wedding and have no dress.
