Hair pin

I am completely clueless when it comes to hair.  I bought a feather hair pin that has that's attached to this kind of pin; http://www.louloubelles.co.uk/prodImages/Rhinestone%20hair%20pins.jpg but I'm wearing my hair half up and have no idea how to attach it.  When I bought it there was no picture of the actual pin, so i assumed it was a bobby pin...I want to wear it on the side/back of my head where my hair will be gathered...  Does anyone know how to use this kind of pin?  It's not going to stay put if I try to just stick it in... Help!

    I think you will have to have another clip holding your hair that's gonna be pulled back and then stick this pin in and it should stay put. If not i think you can use regular bobby pins w/ this and make it hold really good, kinda criss-cross them under your hair...HTH!

    Thank you!!  As long as you think it's possible to pin it I should be okay... I just don't want to show up at the salon and have the hair dresser tell me she can't attach it!!
