Average cost for DJ?

Does anyone have an idea of the average cost of a DJ in the South Bay area?  Thanks.

    We found everyone was between $1000 - $1400 for Livermore/East Bay DJ's. That was for a 5 hour reception and 1 hour ceremony/cocktail hour music/sound.

    I am interviewing DJs in a couple of weeks for my wedding in Belmont.  $1000 for 4 hours seems to be average.  I have found a couple who are $800.

    I found a website called Gigmasters.com and you put in your event information and contact information and DJs send you quotes. There listings on the site give you an idea of their experience and average charges. I have gotten a couple of offers I am very interested in (a dj with 25 yrs experience) and some of the quotes are right in line with our budget. You might give it a look...
