Ettores or Freeport Bakery are both good. 

Also Village Cake Shoppe.

We are using Lien at Crazy Cake Company. She is an amazing cake artist. She actually just won best cake baker on KCRA's A-List.

We are using Freeport..but you can't go bad with Sacramento's new best...Crazy Cakes!

We used Freeport Bakery. The cake was amazing!!! I posted some photos on my site of the inspiration and the final. Our decision was based on the taste first, then the design.  We even took home the top layer and ate it later!
It was exaclty what I wanted.
The top tier was carrot with cream cheese, middle was vanilla with hazelnut buttercream, and the bottom was chocolate with chocolate buttercream.

We also decided to go with all buttercream (instead of fondant) because we didn't like the taste of fondant.

I would do as much research as possible on a few different cake bakers. I found A LOT of bad reviews on what is now River City Cakes & used to be Villiage. I have heard awesome things about Shelton's. I will most likely meet with them. I guess they are an older couple that has been doing this for years!
