Decently Priced Venue...

Help!  I'm looking for a decently priced venue in NOVA/DC/MD!  I need a spot for a ceremony (preferably indoors), since it'll be a February/March wedding.  Estimated 165 guests, and would like to keep the food cost around $15,000...  Any miracle workers out there??

You might want to check out Rockwood Manor, where my son had his wedding.  Off-season (which includes February and March) it is $2000 for 8 hours on a Saturday, or even less on any other day.  Even if everything is indoors, it has a capacity of 130.  And because they let you use any licensed caterer, you can keep the cost down that way.

Check out The Atrium at Treetops.  Their packages are all inclusive and can be customized.  Their top tier package is around $16k.  http://www.treetopsmaryland.com/

Do you have flexibility for what day or time it is?  We are having our wedding at Belmont Country Club in Ashburn and they give a 10% discount for Fridays and Sundays.  Plus they have lower pricing for daytme ceremonies and receptions.  Their package pricing is all inclusive- catering, linens, open bar(well liquors), champagne toast, service charges, etc.

Yes, but you have to be flexible on time of day... Arena Stage in SW DC. We're getting married and having our reception in the Molly Smith Study. The only issue is that you can't have loud music while they have a show going on. Worked out fine for us because we're getting married on New Years Eve and our ceremony doesn't even start till after they close their doors. We have to stay quietish till ten or so, which is fine on our timeline.

You have to choose from four of their approved caterers, but at least two allow you to purchase your own alcohol, which is a big money saver. Our quote for food for 100 people was around your threshold, but included double labor costs because of the holiday. But, we're not having a dinner, just passed hor d'ouevres and buffet of random party food.

and, if you get married earlier in the day than we will, you will have the benefit of a 56 floot glass window and lots of natural light... it's amazing!

It may be too far from DC for you, but check out ThorpeWood in Thurmont, MD.  Beautiful! http:// http://thorpewood.org/venue/welcome.html
