Georgia-Atlanta

Venue near 1-20

Hi Knotties!! I am trying to help a friend find a venue that is convenient to I-20. They have guests coming from Birmingham, Atlanta and Columbus/Phenix City. The bride wants it all indoors and everything I am finding is outside. She isn't a girl girl so nothing too pink! TIA :)

What PART of I-20 are you looking at? Closer to Alabama? The middle? Closer to Atlanta?

What type of venue? Historic home? Park? Special Events Venue?

    What's her budget?

Any part of I-20, any type of venue and budget is not important to her. I think something that is more of a blank slate so she can use draping and lighting would work best but she is open to anything. I want her to use the Foundry at Puritan Mill but she doesn't want to subject her guests to Atlanta traffic. :)

You could try Ambient Plus Studio or Douglasville Conference Center. If she's interested in community centers as well, she could try the Lou Walker Senior Center or Porter Sanford Arts Center.

You have to have her check out The Cotton Warehouse. Its in Monroe, GA and right near I-20. I'm having my wedding there labor day weekend. Its very similar to foundry. I have to warn you though that there are not accomodations nearby. Guests will have to stay 15-20 minutes away most likely.

Here are two pics I took of the venue: http://www.gabeandchristina.com/p/venue.html. You can also visit their website: http://www.thecottonwarehouse.com/ for a few more pics.

    Best of luck!

Monroe, Georgia is the opposite end of I-20 from Alabama/West Georgia (and her guests would be subjected to Atlanta traffic.)

Hmmm, there's a place in Dallas that I was considering, I honestly cannot remember how far it is from Alabama but it is on the west side, it's called Bullock Springs Manor and it was really nice and not girly, they have a very nice indoor facility.

I am at work now, so I don't have the paper, I believe that they do allow outside catering. You can email them and they will send you a huge list of EVERYTHING lol.

    This is their website...

I love it too!!! LOL If I can convince my family to go to Dallas that's where we'd have it!
