How to Ask Friends to be Bridesmaids

Anyone have any cute ideas? I thought of a card but that just sounds like no fun. FI and I are deciding on the size of the BP over the weekend.

Im having three. My MOH is my best friend,  we call each other 'sister'. She already knew she was my MOH when I told her I was engaged. Another bridesmaid has been one of my dear friends since we were nine, so she kind of knew, too. My third bridesmaid has been a dear friend since freshman year, high school. We went to dinner and we were talking wedding stuff. (She is also getting married this year). I showed her a few bridesmaid dresses I had in mind for my wedding, and when she said one was, "Perfect for the wedding" I asked her if she would be willing to wear it. Of course she said yes!

I just called and asked. But I know a few people have written and sent via mail a heart-felt note on decorative paper that details the wedding plans so far, how you know the other bms and their contact info, and any other info you'd like to share.
