Inviting family to stay in a group lodge

We are almost certain about putting a deposit on our venue, but we have an idea that we are unsure of and have gotten mixed responses from our family. The venue has options to rent 6 or 10 bedroom group lodges, like a small hotel. All rooms have private baths and large living room, kitchen, game room for everyone to hang out in. We wanted to pay for this ourselves and invite close family members to stay with us that night. We'll stay there Saturday night and depart Sunday morning. Our families are traveling from out of state, so we thought this would be a load off their shoulders and a "thank you" for all they've helped us with. Is this too confusing for guests who might come down a day early and have to get a hotel for that night then come to the group lodge (which is on the same property as the wedding venue)? They might not think of the mini-family reuinion as nice as I think it is? Or they'll want to make their own vacation out of it? Family that we've told have said things like "oh you guys aren't responsible for that" or "don't worry, everyone is prepared to find their own accomidations". Just want to get some opinions. I know Im over thinking it.
