Anyone else have this problem?

I feel like there are NO affordable venues around me. I have booked the WPA Center in Carrollton for the reception. I have planned on getting married in my family church, but the FI doesn't want to get married in a church. He says it doesn't have the look he wants. I have 11 months left to plan EVERYTHING and I am freaking out. Thing is, I can't have both the reception and the wedding at the WPA Center because it's really not big enough. Advice?

Nope. I asked the lady in charge and she said that once it's set by them, it doesn't move. And you have to draw a floor plan and everything....if it's moved, you lose your deposit. I mean, I guess it's really not SUCH a big deal if I can talk the FI into the church ceremony...

If you cancel the reception space now will you lose your deposit? What "look" does he want?

I just found a blog with photos from a wedding held there where they had the ceremony and reception in the same room. Looks like guests sat around the tables. Is there a park/garden near the reception venue that you can hold the ceremony at?

Well, there is, but we are getting married on December 1. With the weather here, it could go either way. Heck, I didn't even wear a jacket on Christmas...BUT we have agreed on my family's church, saving the extra decorating money for more liquor!
