Can't decide on a florist

I've met with four different florists, and I'm not in love with any of them.  I think a large part of it is that I don't really know exactly what I want, so I feel like I need a little more guidance, which i don't really feel like I've gotten.  Although I also wonder if my budget id the issue.

I was wanting to spend no more than $1000 on flowers (I have only one bridesmaid and two groomsmen, but need about 20 centerpieces).  Three places have given me quotes around there, but weren't very good at helping me decide what i want.  One person (Jill at J Elizabeth) was great at having opinions and really asking questions about my wedding to understand the feel and what would work for us, but the quote was about $1500.

Any suggestions?  Should I just swallow it and go with the more expensive one?  Do I need to do more research on my own to decide what I want?  Is it unreasonable to expect a florist to help me figure out what I want and what works for our budget- and to be honest about what might not be a good idea?

  • Try Dixie Florist. They'll work with your budget for sure.

  • Look online at Sam's club they have some amazing package's, I was going to use them but settled for the real touch flowers from Hobby Lobby.
  • Check out Schmitt's florist. It's costing us about $400. He won't try to sell you somehting you don't want and really great to work with.

  • I'm meeting with Lloyd's Florist next week for bouquets and such, but I'm thinking I may end up ordering my centerpieces from fiftyflowers.com.  They have some great packages on wedding flowers.  I'll let you know what I think of Lloyd's.
  • You definitely need to call Sarah at Country Squire Florist on Shelbyville Rd. She did my 1st daughter's wedding and is doing my other daughters in May 2013. If you will go in there and give her a general theme and color scheme she will recommend everything. I wasn't sure what we wanted the first time and we left it up to her - the flowers and everything were beautiful. She also was the most reasonably priced of all the places I went. I HATED the guy a Lloyds - he was rude and expensive. Here is their website: http://www.csfweddings.com/

<div>I agree with everything that was said above! I met with Sarah and Mike at Lloyds. I met with Sarah first. I had NO idea what I wanted. I told her my colors and where we were having the ceremony and the reception and she pulled real flower to make little mini bouqets and centerpieces so i had a better idea because i know NOTHING about flowers. She was awesome. I went a few days later to Lloyds and he was rude, acted like I was such a bother because I couldn't come out before 4:00 pm (my work hours won't allow it unless I take a sick day). He showed me pictures in a book of what flowers would be put together. His centerpieces were VERY simplistic and half of my tables wouldn't have even had flowers on them and he quoted me DOUBLE my budget (yes, I told him the budget up front). I chose Sarah from Country Squire and called her while I was sitting in the parking lot at Floyds! She's been awesome to work with.</div>
