In the thread below you mentioned of there being a process you go through to do an Advent wedding.

Can you explain more? We are looking at Advent for our wedding and are meeting with the priest this coming week, but nobody mentioned this.

What is it?

    I just said that it required a dispensation back then.  I have no idea about now, in fact, I see plenty of weddings during Advent now.

    I also see weddings during Lent, which used to be banned.

    It may depend on your diocese or priest.  Seems that they're making all the calles these days ;)

    Yes.  Advent and Lent are no longer banned timelines for weddings in most archdioceses.  However, weddings are not permitted to take place on any Holy Days including Holy Week.  My wedding is scheduled to take place the day before Palm Sunday.  Hope this helps.
