DJ or equipment rental suggestions

Hi ladies!

I am starting my search for a dj for the reception or equipment rentals (a la ipod dj). We have a very small budget for the wedding overall, so the less expensive the better.. Hopefully this isn't something we'll have to go over budget for :s

Do you guys have any recommendations?

ETA: Wedding will be in Oregon, IL (just west of DeKalb)

    Does your venue offer the use of any speakers or anything that they have hard-wired already?  I don't really have any suggestions for equipment rentals, maybe a rent-a-center type place?  Also, my venue required all of our vendors to carry their own insurance, even if we were going with an ipod dj - you might want to make sure your venue doesn't have a clause like this.  Good luck!

    Thanks for the advice - only speakers that the venue has is a small one + microphone to be used during the ceremony. They require us to have a $1m policy for the event, so I'm sure the vendors not having insurance wouldn't be a deal breaker.

    </div><div>I have a band/DJ package where I actually sing Michael Buble kinda stuff with a live jazz trio or recordings for Cocktails, and dj the rest of the night...I price it just over a DJ price since I am both the singer and dj. My costs stay low. If I meet a bride, I have NEVER had them not go with me and this package.</div></div></div>
