i am new to the area and i am trying to plan a reception to folow a destination wedding. what are some venues in the area you would reccomend that could accomodate up to two hundred people

It really depends on how much you want to spend. We checked out:

Northfield Inn and Suites
Inn at 835
Hilton Garden Inn
Sangamon Prairie Reception Center

I've also heard great things about the Piper Glen Country Club and Panther Creek Country Club.

thank you. we are definetly on a tight budget. i also hear the new eagles club in nice and reasonably priced but i want to get a list together before i start looking.

Southwind Park - Erin Pavilion

A coworker of mine had both the ceremony and reception there.  The view was beautiful.  The one side of the reception hall is all glass so we were able to see the sunset.

The artisan building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds is really nice!

I can vouch for the Artisans Building at the Fairgrounds.... we're having our reception there next October and it's beautiful!  The building has hardwood floors, exposed beams and lots of windows.
