Engagement shoot locations in Sarasota

I am taking my engagement photos in June in Sarasota. I would like to find a location with historic buildings and/or nice architecture. Does anyone have any recommendations besides Shelby Gardens and Ringling?

Try new college grounds, it's near Ringling and has a nice view, the college itself has a nice architecture with Ca d'Zan not far away as a backdrop.

Have your photographer look at the Columbia Restaurant on St. Armand's Circle - there might be a unique shot of the two of you at one of the outside cafe tables or inside...  capturing some of the Spanish charm.  http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/sarasota.asp

I've never heard of SARASOTA CITY ISLAND, but I like this collection of engagement photos taken there:http://intruecolors.com/blog/engagement-photography/sarasota-engagement-photography-2/

Go there, then scroll down a little until you see the heading called
    Sarasota Engagement Photography,
and the photos are below that.

City Island is part of Marina Jacks. There is a park there by the harbor area that would be great for photo ops. If you take pics overlooking the water, you will get shots of the John Ringling Bridge, Bird Key, etc. in the background. A lot of weddings take place under a large Oak in the park.  City Island is the south end of the property, and it is just a few blocks from Selby Gardens.
