Why are Tri-City venues so expensive?

Please tell my why every venue I've looked at wants $3-4K to rent the building or even OUTSIDE area for about 5 hours!!!  I don't get it.  Go to Portland and you get a more beautiful space for $1,000.

Re: Why are Tri-City venues so expensive?

  • Because they don't have much competition over there... Unfortunately that's how it works... Our venue in Bellingham was 1k for the ENTIRE day, but they also have to compete with a LOT of other venues.
  • It also might be that you're look at strictly "wedding" venues.

Check with the city of Pasco, Kennewick and/or Richland. Their city buildings (the Richland community center in Howard Amon park is BEAUTIFUL) are muuuch cheaper.

  • Agreed ^
Look up your local Parks and Rec areas.. That's how we found ours.
Googling "wedding" will pop up most expensive down to cheapest [usually].
  • I do wedding photography in the TC and was shocked when I went looking for a venue. One of my favorite weddings that I have done was at the Richland community center. They had the tables set up and an aisle down the middle guests sat at their tables durring the ceremony. I thought it was a great idea and so pretty. Pluss, with how hot it gets here in the summer the airconditioning was very nice.
