Flush-mount album HELP!!

I was married over a year ago and have gotten everything I have paid for except my wedding album. I have tried and tried to contact my photographer, but after talking to some of his videographer friends, I learned that his visa ran out and he returned to Canada about three months after my wedding. This whole time, I've been trying to contact him about my $1,000 album and he has skipped town. So now he's in Canada and won't return emails. Well, I've decided to design the album (and the three parent albums) myself to cut down on cost (as we've already spent $1,000 on this stupid thing) and now I need a place that will print and bind it for me. Does anyone know of a place where they print and bind flush mount albums for the public? Or maybe a sympathetic photographer who will help me get into a print and bind place?

First, let me just say that I am SO sorry to hear that.  What a jerk to not fulfill the contract, he could do it from Canada, or at least refund part of the money. Unfortunately, I see a lot of photog horror stories.Do you have a digital copy of your pictures?  If so, you should consider something called "My Publisher".I used it to make the parent albums and you could certainly use it to make the main wedding album.  You have to download the software (which is FREE!) and then you use it on your computer to make an album.  When you are done, you upload it to the company (it sounds complicated but it actually easy) and that is when you place the order and it cost anywhere from $30-50 depending on number of pages, etc.  Anyway, they print it up (it is flush mount and bound) and send it to you.  It is inexpensive and fairly hassle free and the quality is awesome (as long as you use high resolution photos).  Our turned out wonderful... I was so happy with it.  Also since you are already out so much, this would be a very cheap option for you. HTH!

Poor thing! Thats horrible!! At least you have your images! I am going to make my own albums as well and I use blurb for personal and family albums however for the wedding albums I am going to use Mpix.com they are a company that many photographers use for prints and albums. Blurb would be on the lower end of the price spectrum and mpix on the higher end but it is a different quality. mpix has leather bound flush mount books that look and are completely professional, which are called assembled albums. I personally think blurb.com is a little easier to use than mypublisher and better priced but each person has their own thoughts. Blurb also has premium paper and image wrap covers that arent that expensive. I've never heard of Blurb, but I've heard of mpix...Good stuff there. However, have you thought about Shutterfly? Not sure if they do flush-mount albums (mainly because I'm not exactly sure what a flush-mount album IS), but I've seen some photo books from them for my future bro & sis in law's wedding, and it looked really nice!

None of the suggestions people posted are 'flush mount' albums. You can go to Fromex print lab (near SDSU) and have the book printed and bound into a self-mount album that will be very close to the flush mount look. I think you could probably get it for about $200-250 per book, depending on the size. The albums they sell in the store are often purchased by pros, but they sell directly to consumers.
