Reception in the cities

Does anyone have any great reception sites to recommend?

I am originally from the cities and that is where most of my friends and family are from.  I went to school in St. Cloud and fell in love with the Cabin feel of Mulligan’s but don't want to make anyone drive that far.  Any suggestions would be well appreciated !

Don’t know your budget, and none of these places are considered “budget” in my opinion, but they are all very cool.   There is a Minneapolis, St Paul board (look under the local boards) and you can get more specific help based on any budget/ location.

I am having my reception at the Carlson Rotunda-it's really beautiful.  My first choice was the James J Hill Library in St. Paul-absolutely stunning!!!  I couldn't book b/c they were apparently doing construction, but would be amazing to have it!  Good luck.  The new Westin in Edina is also very nice for a hotel.  We also looked at the Landmark Center, IDS, Semple Mansion and the women's center.  All are beautiful and different.

I went to a wedding there in april and it was beautiful. From what I am told they had an awesome staff, and reasonable pricing. It also had this big fireplace, and the ceiling was all wood panneling, so it kind of had that "up-north" feel

Check out the mill city museum. We are having our engagment photos done there and on the st. anthony bridge..It looks pretty awesome.

I agree with the Refuge Golf Club. My brother just got married there in June and it was a beautiful ceremony and reception. Very woodsy-chic and even though it rained, the back-up ceremony spot was gorgeous.

Thanks for all the responses!  I looked into many of them!  I have chosen a location.  Unsure if I love it but it means a lot to the groom so the little log house in hastings it is...
