    I work right by McNamara --- the Radisson is the closest hotel and the one you should pick for your room block - do not pick the Days Inn on University or whatever it is called now, it's still trashy and old.

    Also, you'll want to give people EXTREMELY detailed instructions on how to get there and where to park- since the light rail construction is going on, a lot of roads are closed and I can tell you that people who work here at the U every day are even confused.  I'm sure things will change a bunch before then, but here is a link to parking and transportation services - you may have to search around to find the specifics, but it should keep you up to date on the accessibility: http://www1.umn.edu/pts/

    For decor, I've seen lots of draping done at McNamara - with the big open ceiling space, it looks really elegant.
