downtown reception venues

Hi! I have a lot of out-of-towners coming for my wedding and would like to have my reception (large, tradiional reception with dinner for about 200 people) somewhere in/close to downtown SLC! 

What venues downtown are large enough?

    Univeristy Hotel at the U of U
    Red Butte Gardens is large, and beautiful.
    Temple Square has a few places

    Hotel Monico

    You have quite a few choices when it comes to downtown-
    I think you should focus on what you can spend first- and then start to narrow it down from there.

    I agree, Red Butte Gardens is awesome.  My other recommendations are The Point at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Heritage House in Memory Grove, Joseph Smith Memorial Building (if you are LDS or do not plan on serving alcohol - they don't allow alcohol), The 13th Floor (in the Wells Fargo building), Rice Eccles Stadium.  Hope that helps a little bit!
